John Fusco was born in Oshawa and obtained his high school education at Anderson Collegiate in Whitby and his post-secondary education from Durham College.
John played lacrosse from 1980 through 2001, an amazing 21 years. He played Junior A for Whitby for 5 years (1980-1984), Major Lacrosse for the Brooklin Redmen for 18 years (1981, 1983, and 1985 through 2002) and in the National Lacrosse League for one year (1991). During this time he was a member of teams that won two Minto Cups (Junior A) and five Mann Cups (Major Lacrosse).
John’s other accomplishments include winning the P.C.O. Trophy as outstanding rookie, the Bucko MacDonald trophy as the top scorer in a Major series, and the Jim Murphy trophy as the MVP in a Major OLA series. John’s scoring prowess was notable as he is the 4th all-time career assist leader and 11th all-time in total points at the Junior A level.
