Alison started skating with the Whitby Figure Skating Club when she was 4 years old. At the age of 10, she joined the Whitby Precision Skating Teams at skated with all four teams over the next 11 years. Alison was a member of the 1986 Novice Canadian Champion Ice Angels as well as the 1989 and 1990 Ice Fyre Senior Canadian Champions.
