Toronto-born Harry Sinden played with the Dunlops from the time the team moved to Whitby from Oshawa. Prior to that, he played four years with the Oshawa Generals and one year with the Oshawa Truckmen. He won the most popular player award twice with the Generals and was regarded as one of the headiest defencemen in amateur hockey.

He turned down an offer to turn pro with Cleveland in 1958 and was an integral part of the Dunlops 1958 World Championship team. In 1960, Harry did turn professional and played for Kingston in the Eastern Pro League where the team won the Tim Foley Championship Cup in 1962-63. He was then promoted to player-coach for the team.

When the Kingston team moved to Minneapolis, Harry retired as a player and became a full time coach. In 1966, Sinden was hired to coach the Boston Bruins NHL franchise and subsequently rose to the office of General Manager. He was also the head coach for Team Canada in the 1972 Summit Series versus the Soviet Union.
