Henderson was born and raised in Mimico where he played all his minor league lacrosse and then five years of Jr. “A” lacrosse with the Mimico Mounties. He was recruited to play for the Brooklin Redmen from the Mimico organization by Lou Vipond.

Jerry then spent one year playing Sr. lacrosse with the Port Credit Sailors before joining the Toronto Maple Leafs Sr. semi-pro lacrosse team where he played for three years. He then re-joined the Brooklin Redmen in 1968 where he was part of the Mann Cup Championship team.

Jerry married his childhood sweetheart, Barbara, 34 years ago and they have three grown children (two sons and on daughter). Jerry comments that he spent the four best years of his lacrosse career with the Redmen and is still involved with its Alumni Association.

Jerry’s business career spanned 28 years as an independent agent in the alcoholic beverage industry representing many wine and beer distributors.
