Pat McCloskey

Pat was born in Dungiven, Northern Ireland in 1926 and emigrated to Canada as a young child, settling in Kirkland Lake, Ontario in 1928. His minor hockey career in Kirkland Lake included Junior and Senior School championships in 1939 and 1940 respectively, and the All-Ontario Juvenile A championship in 1941-42, a team that boasted future NHL stars Ted Lindsay and Gus Mortson.

Moving to Whitby in 1942, Pat played for the Whitby Juvenile Team, winning the Ontario Championship in 1944-45 and, of course, the OHA Junior C Champion Red Wing team in 1945-46.

In 1948, Pat played in Scotland for the Perth Panthers and upon returning to Canada, he played for the Collingwood Shipbuilders for 3 years.
